Maintenance
Compressor oil change intervals
Compressor oil change intervals should not be based only on operating hours. Ambient temperature, intake air quality, humidity, oil type and maintenance discipline should be reviewed together.
Problem
Compressor oils provide lubrication, cooling, sealing and cleanliness. When oil condition deteriorates, temperature, efficiency, deposits and service cost are directly affected.
Selection criteria
The OEM maintenance manual is the first reference, but high temperature, dusty intake air, humidity, intensive operation, poor ventilation and filter issues can shorten standard intervals.
Checklist
- Daily or weekly oil level control
- Oil darkening or odor change
- Compressor discharge temperature
- Air filter, oil filter and separator condition
- Ambient dust and intake air quality
- Condensate and moisture control
- Oil analysis values for oxidation, viscosity and particles
Technical support call
Final change intervals should be confirmed with OEM instructions, maintenance records and current oil analysis.
